Langhe, Monferrato and Roero in the heart of Piedmont: rich in wines, well known for the food and the local products, beautiful rolling landscapes , history, art and architecture

last update: 29/07/2010

Only Umbria and Tuscany in Italy can offer a mix of landscape, history and monuments, gastronomic variety, wine in quality and quantity comparable to the Monferrato, Langhe and Roero area. The spots appear and disappear like mirages; all of a sudden you reach the fragrance of hay, limes and acacias , and, at noon with favorable wind, you can feel the a restaurant with a mile of notice.

Our friend Sandro recommend using the ideal way to get around and visit the most picturesque points of our beautiful area: the scooter, Vespa in particular.
The road that runs through valleys and ridges are local streets that do not exceed three meters in width; the villages are castled or placed along ridges. The agile, lightweight and small Vespa quivers, and is comfortable in this environment, its moderate speed is not a limitation but indeed a virtue because the curves come as suddenly as crosses and  downhills. Often you find gravel or mud on the asphalt especially after heavy rains, therefore powerful brakes can be a problem and a danger to security.

On foot you can take long walks on marked paths between the vineyards, fields and woods, looking for man signs, flora and fauna.

With horses all Monferrato can be visited following the hippo-way created by the Association Cavalcavalli and many other routes

The Bicycle is the ideal way to enjoy the hills of Monferrato and Langhe; the demanding routes of the Tour of Italy, after an exhausting effort, bring the fans to a unique natural environment, every lap pedal reserves a surprise: castles, small medieval churches, fragrance of gastronomy from small inns full of goodness.
